Exciting Opportunity: Kobe College Corporation-Japan Education Exchange High School Essay Contest

Dear CAJLT Members,

We have received exciting news from Kobe College Corporation-Japan Education Exchange—the oldest Japan/US cross-cultural nonprofit in the country.

They are currently hosting their 24th annual High School Essay Contest, open to students who have studied at least one year of formal Japanese language and will be 16 years of age by July 1, 2024. The contest welcomes essays in English, and the winner will have the incredible opportunity to receive round-trip airfare to Japan and enjoy four weeks of a homestay and language study in Kyoto.

We encourage you to share this fantastic opportunity with your Japanese language students and extend the invitation to participate in the 2024 contest. Additionally, feel free to disseminate the information through your listservs and any other networks to ensure widespread participation.

For further details and to apply, please visit the contest page at High School Essay Contest. You can also find the official flyer here.

If you have any questions, please contact the contest organizers directly at ajgaspar25@gmail.com.

Let’s contribute to the success of this contest and provide our students with an opportunity for cross-cultural engagement!
